First I'll give the positives of the Junos broadcast 2012.
i) the sound was finally ALMOST good. Every year the sound quality of the show SUCKS. This year it was actually listenable. That's not to say it was good, it was not.
ii) Hedley's performance was good (though not great) & those guys on stilt-thingys doing back flips were cool, Dallas Green (aka City & Colour) was great!
iii) Lights with Deadmau5 was the best performance of the night
iv) Dallas Green, Arkells, Hedley, Feist & Dragonette won awards
v) my former boss, Gary Slaight, was highlighted which was kinda neat!
vi) Blue Rodeo got a lifetime achievement type of award
Now the rest . . .
* Nickelback opened . . . REALLY? Were they trying to lose the audience in the first 5 minutes?
* William Shatner was a horrid host. There isn't much more to say than that.
* The performances were dull.
* The presenters were, for the most part, unrecognizable and they didn't really announce who they were (or write it on the flippin' screen so you could figure it out). Dumb move.
* not enough awards were given away on screen
