Every little detail of your life is what made you into who you are in the end. - Drew Barrymore
The weather this past week has been so beautiful & unseasonably warm that its had me thinking about what the weather is usually like in March & April. It's usually cool & rainy.
When it rains I like to watch it from the window. To just sit & see the drops fall in puddles & drip from trees. I like to see what direction it's coming from, whether it's falling straight down or on an angle etc. etc.
I have vivid memories of sitting, as a little girl, at the window watching it rain, tracing the raindrops with my finger as they drip down the window. Now that I think about it, I probably saw someone do it on tv while lamenting a lost love or something of the sort.
Do you ever talk to the rain? Weird question, I know.
When it rains I have an odd tendency to talk to it. I grumble about how it ruined my day, kept me from going places, doing things I wanted to do. I wonder where the sun is & why it can't fight harder to make it past the clouds. I tell the flowers, trees, & grass to enjoy the rain while it lasts because I expect better weather tomorrow.
Winter rain is different than summer rain. Winter rain means slick, icy, slippery conditions. Summer rain I can enjoy. It's warm, it's refreshing & it's a break from the heat.
The moral of this story . . . I'm thankful for the beautiful weather as opposed to what we're used to this time of year.
