You know how sometimes you watch a movie & you notice little things they've done wrong? I know that one of my favourite movies, Empire Records, has more than it's share of these glaringly obvious mistakes. For example, there's a scene where they all start dancing around & a character named AJ takes off his shirt. The camera swings over to some other people but when it swings back AJ has his shirt back on. A second later you see AJ from behind & he is again shirtless. I know, it's a silly mistake that many people probably wouldn't even notice. However this is just one of many mistakes in this film.
What fascinates me is that most, if not all, movies have people whose job it is to monitor these inconsistencies. It's called continuity people! Now how is it that these people miss these obvious mistakes & still have a job? How do I get their job?!
Today my lovely mother & I saw One For The Money. There were a few mistakes that seriously threw me off. There's a scene where Katherine Heigl's character's car got broken into. The window is smashed but there is no glass on the ground. When she opens the door of the car there is also no glass inside the car. Then, once she's in the car, the broken glass window just disappears as if it was never there at all. She never rolls the window down so where does the glass go???? There are a few other instances like this but this one was blantaly evident.
So my question is this . . . how do I get this job? I could watch movies over & over looking for conspicuous errors to correct! I would actually be really good at it.
